Do not flatten form fields

When using a PDF form with form fields as a template, and populating the form fields, is there a way to tell PDF Include not to flatten some or all the form fields in the generated PDF document ?

In other words, I would like to open the resulting PDF document with Adobe Reader and be able to fill the form fields.

Right now, after generating a PDF form, the form fields no longer exist.

PS: Using version 3.3.3 on AIX 6.1 64bit with OpenEdge 10.2B06

still interested?

Hi Zaphod,
are you still interested in this funcionality?
I have a preliminar version here that works in almost every cases, it is still under testing but will prove very good at retaining the form.

Yes I Am

Hello JC

Sorry I could not respond sooner, but the OEHive kept rejecting all my posts with "Your submission has triggered the installed spam filter and will not be accepted.".

I finally gave up and created a new account. Lets hope it works this time.

I would love to test your preliminay version. Let me know how to proceed.

Thanks.

You're right, the form fields disapear after generating a pdf form.
Keeping the form fields is currently not supported, however I'd be glad to implement it; please contact me privately for the conditions.

Do not flatten form fields

JC,

We are looking for a progress pdf solution that works both on Windows and unix and I am looking into pdf-inc.

Did you end up adding the feature so fill in form fields are preserved? We pre-populate our form and allow the user to modify most fields. Is this something I will be able to accomplish with pdf-inc.i? If so, how can I check if my version of pdf-inc.i contains that feature?

Also, on our most popular form we produce a bar-code using the Bar Code 39 e font, size 18 Will pdf-inc support that?

Regards,
TW
