Role: Software Developer

Client facing; gathering business requirements for proposed system
development by means of conference calls, site visits, meetings and
workshops
Accurate capture and communication of user requirements
Creation documented user requirements, project definition documents, functional specifications and
system specifications
Accurate estimation of the development effort required to deliver the
requirements
Active involvement in all stages of the project lifecycle to ensure that the
implemented solution meets the agreed user requirements
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Essential Skills:
Progress Development
OpenEdge/4GL experience version 8 and 10 in GUI and character
SQL Server/relational database experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience successfully delivering projects
to budget that successfully fulfil the agreed user requirements
Excellent communication skills with the ability to express technical problems
and solutions clearly, both orally and in writing.
Excellent time management, prioritisation and planning skills
Proactive and self-motivated
Able to work as part of a team or alone
Desirable:-
Ability to play an active part in user discussions and, where appropriate, to
use tact and knowledge of relevant areas of computer applications or systems
software
Ability to assist with / perform system tests of the developed software
