Title: Software Team Manager, FIMS Development
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Reports to Chief Technical Officer
Salary Range: $100,000-150,000 (negotiable based on experience)
Excellent benefits (pay majority of health insurance)

Job Description
Company's goal for 2010 and 2011 is to create up-to-date, user friendly technology products for current and prospective clients. To help us achieve this goal, the Company is looking for a seasoned Team Manager to join our Team. Working directly with the CTO, Senior Developers and Junior Software Engineers, this individual will contribute to the creation and redesign of the Company’s FIMS product line.
The Team Manager will be responsible for all functions of FIMS development. The Manager will provide expert technical advice on product redesign and he or she will have a crucial role in training, guiding and mentoring junior members of the development team.

The Team Manager’s Responsibilities will include:
- Leading a team of senior and junior software engineers
- Programming in Progress and object oriented design
- Providing professional and high level technical expertise to all aspects of the SDLC
- Contributing to and overseeing the successful and timely delivery of all software projects
- Utilizing expert troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Articulating technical issues clearly to upper management
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of new technologies and their applicability to Company products
- Fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Interfacing with clients to manage and resolve elevated technical issues
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar field 5 years’ programming experience in Java and C languages, with emphasis on object oriented design 2-3 years programming in Progress OpenEdge ABL
At least one year’s experience as a Team Manager or similar role Experience designing multi-user database applications and working with concurrency, indexing and normalization procedures Firm knowledge of Progress RDBMS, preferred Experience designing Windows desktop applications Familiarity with web application design Ability to effectively define and estimate project tasks Excellent organization skills Self-motivating with a high level of enthusiasm Excellent verbal and written communication skills
